.
My heart overflows with a pleasing theme; I address my verses to the King; my tongue is like the pen of a ready scribe.”
Psalm 45:1
I write because I am overwhelmed by a ‘pleasing theme’. It is the theme of hope and redemption in Jesus Christ. My writing seeks to explore the depths, treasures, and truth in that redemption. It would seem that as I read and listen to stories, all over people are seeking redemption. I believe it’s the reason we turn to stories in the first place. We are all searching out an answer to the long-dormant unsettling about who we are and where we are ultimately headed.
The world doesn’t need more artists who present subjective and ambiguous ideas. I want to read and watch to learn something greater than myself. I think we all hope we might find the world’s true narrative. But more importantly, we so desperately hope that it might include a redemptive arc for our own lives. I believe this narrative to be the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
An ancient scribe was tasked with writing down the scriptures he was handed; to pass down knowledge and truth for the next generation. It was perhaps one of the most important jobs in the history of the world; to steward knowledge and truth. I hope my writing can be the work of a faithful scribe who passes on the truth of God’s Word.
That is the task of my writing. In story and essay, I hope I might convince you, dear reader, of the narrative that might frame the meaning of our lives and present to us a redemption far greater than anything we could dream of. I hope you’ll turn the page in this story. I’m a few chapters in and I haven’t been disappointed yet.

I love spending time with my wife and daughter and son, reading all manner of books and genres, exploring new interests (from European strategy games to filmmaking to woodworking to fishing to learning just about any skill that becomes helpful for the mission at hand), and writing anything that might shed further light on the truth of the Gospel.
